4 Final Haunt

A enlightened sense of awareness I preferred not occur did, I had to face facts. Here where the facts; this house was making us all a little strange, we where all being affected by this house. Then tragedy struck, my son's friend (who called me mom and I loved dearly) committed suicide and rocked our world. The timing was such that he died right before the ghost busting team came around. Sunday arrived and so did our paranormal expert guests or whatever you want to call them. They arrived at our door, a team of 4, two ladies, two men.  I was happy that finally I could get some support since I could not turn to the police for help. I did try to turn to my therapist who compared it to dreaming and I stopped their.

Entering, they make them selves at home sitting down and asking if we had any snacks, hmm I thought noticing how grungy they looked in their goth-icky wear, really? Now you need to remember this is long before we had any ghost reality shows, no Ghost Hunters or Ghost Adventures, and maybe that was good. Without any reality shows to influence them it was should be original. So, alas they sit on my couch and ask for snacks, snacks they did not need. They where hungry and well that was okay I fed them. Whilst they delighted on chips and soda I recalled the goings on, explaining a feeling of hands wrapped around my throat was the final straw, so I found them on the internet.. They explained to me how spirits tend to get angry when a resident moves  and  may begin to really act up. I wasn't sure where they got this info but being as I was the one in need of help I wasn't going to start scrutinizing.

They where in for a shock when my son Kain came home, he had just lost his best friend David to suicide and how he might behave in grief was anyone's guess. He had been spending time with some friends and they had just been to David's house where everything had unfortunately been left the same as it had been post Dave's suicide. It had not been cleaned I would learn later, as it is not anyone's job like the police to have to do it. But in this moment Kain did burst through the door looking like he lost his best friend and screamed out, up the stairs to everyone " I don't care if I live or die!" and then before I had a chance to respond every light and power source in the entire house shut off, the house was silent. It felt so strange the paranormal team was already receiving a first rate representation of how crazy this house got.

As Kain came up stairs, I followed him back to his room, the house darkened, not even a familiar sound  from a humming refrigerator with my son experiencing one of life's most cruelest of realities and also a host of paranormal investigators seated in our living room, perhaps now stirring, I did not know. I looked to them with a knowing look, knowing I need to go be with my son, and now. Later he would tell me that he never even noticed the power going out, just noting that as he went to turn his light on the bathroom light ahead of him  turned on instead, his mind tried to make sense of it, but his mind was in a lot of places. What if it was Dave  who had caused a total blow out of our power, maybe he is  reminding you that he loves you and he was trying to get your attention? I think he wants you remember you are alive with the whole world ahead of you and yet he cannot come back, he wants you to have life.

Once out with the paranormal team a feeling that this team should maybe get up off my couch and do some paranormaling did occur.  It seemed that this team was in need of more inspiration I figured this being they just sat chatting to each other about odd things indeed. Finally I just stood in front of them and said "So, do you all have some sort of, well I dunno ritual or thing you do to start getting things started so you can do what you do ~ oh and by the way... what is it exactly that you do? One of the guys chirped right up instructing that we choose the room with the worst energy and throw down some tarot cards. Well, that was easy the room was the downstairs, back bedroom the one every child stayed in and moved out of, the one with walls scarred and shoddily patched, the one with that small metal box, (a box I imagined like a little mausoleum drawer, one with tiny bones perhaps, I told them half jokingly but all curious.

I led them into the room where upon we sat atop a blanket on the floor & one of them quipped "you know we don't have a dead baby card right?!" To which I thought, "uh... yea I guess why would you?"  I continued to shuffle and then was told to throw down the deck. I had never done it that way, but okay I threw them atop the blanket. What appeared was startling if not infantile... the lead paranormal guy picked up the upside down card, "oh my God he said, this is the embryo card and it's upside down I guess we do have a dead baby card after all." Well, that was freaky, certainly chilling, but of course, short of tearing down this guys wall, how else would we know for sure? Later, They actually suggested the tearing down of the wall, which as curious as I was I only had three weeks left and I did not want to be like character in a Stephen King book, just axing down a wall, after all it could have been like the Al Capone thing too.

Once they continued on with a true intention to tear down the wall I had them explain in detail a bit little more of 'what they do.' It turns out the process worked as so for them; 1)they come over and eat (LOL) 2.)they make your ghost's really angry and upon the ghosts coming out and getting real pissed off well then they captured them in some ghost box, oh and wait it gets better! 3)They take them home, their home filled with the soft patter of children s feet, uh huh, and then they put them in the back in a guest house or locked room something, well~ needless to say that was just about enough of our paranormal team in our eyes. They had hoped to come back the next night but my honey took the lead and told them in no uncertain terms they did not and would not be coming back. I would survive the next three weeks just fine and thank divine grace I moved into my next place with out a lot of fan fare.
